Object Description
Chinese late 17th century early 18th century – Kangxi famille verte compressed form lidded bowl and cover. The handles are modelled on Elephant heads although a little indistinct.
Painted to the sides and to the lid with panels of various flowers issuing from rockwork, these are the four noble flowers that are important in Chinese folklore including Peony, Chrysanthemums. lotus and prunus. The borders at the top and bottom of the panels are of a geometric style with small cartouches of flowers.
Excellent enamels and use of colour overall the painting is excellent the shape is very appealing. An excellent piece overall
