KANGXI PAIR OF FAMILLE VERTE GU BEAKERS

Object Description

Chinese late 17th century early 18th century famille verte Gu Beakers. Unusual potting and design as they have a double ‘bulb’ in the middle of each vase. this would have made them very difficult to pot.
They are painted in the early famille verte palette and design of the middle sections being painted in a geometric design with cartouches of flowers and the flaring section and the base painted with petal shaped swirling panels painted to the inside with flowering plants.
The palette includes over glaze orange with aubergine green enamels
Double circle to the base in under glaze blue.

Object Condition

Very good condition. There is a firing flaw to the base of one on the inside which to the outside presents as looking like a star crack. But it is from the firing flaw
