An extremely fine Kangxi period blue and white glazed ceramic meiping vase, featuring a bell-shaped lid and knob handle, panels of floral ornament and chrysanthemum borders. Meiping, literally translating to ‘plum vase’, stands for the vase shape since these shapes were characteristically used to display plum branches with blossoms. The vessel is a beautiful example of Kangxi blue and white production.
