Object Description

In Vaughan’s work, the still life began to appear within interior scenes around 1948 as jugs and fruit, a motif used until 1951. The first still life canvas without figures, now in a private collection, dates from 1949 and it is also around this period that the heavy outlines began to appear, before the artist’s forays into abstraction from 1952.
