This is a finely hand painted Chinese export Large Bowl from the 18th century, Qing dynasty, Qianlong period, 1736-1795. We date this piece to circa 1770.
It is beautifully hand decorated with different and continuous Chinese figure scenes in different settings, having ladies (long elizas), men and children in panels, on verandas and in houses, with trees and household ornaments..
The design is hand painted over-glaze with rich polychrome enamels of green, burnt orange, blue, magenta, yellow, and grey, all in various shades. The inside base is also hand painted with a figure scene and the inner rim has a border pattern.
There is also some hand gilding in various places and in the ladies hair which is a good sign of quality.
The bowl is unmarked to the base.
Overall, a very beautiful example of Chinese hand painting at its best.
