Object Description

A giant size tray suitable for use as a low table. A magnificent sterling silver salver with pierced and cast border of shells and grape vine ornament. The centre has a broad scroll border profusely engraved with flowers and leaves. To the centre is a coat of arms with leopard crest and motto “Toujours Pret”. Weight approx 210 troy ounces, 6537 grams. Diameter 69.5cm. Height 5cm. London 1831. Maker John Edward Terry.

Object Condition

The salver is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. The engraving has good definition. Stamped underneath with a full set of English silver hallmarks. The centre field has a few small scratches and dents. The surface has slight movement in the centre, mainly due to the large surface area.
