Large antique French Sevres-style porcelain charger
French, late 19th Century
This large French porcelain charger, in the Sevres style, is intricately painted with a period interior scene, set in the cellar of a house with wooden floor, of a father figure reading from an open book, in the presence of other members of his family. The painting is signed by the artist ‘Paul Fortin’ and is framed in bands of turquoise and gilt.
The plaque is marked to the underside with interlaced L’s, reminiscent of Sevres, and is mounted in metal, allowing it to be hung as a piece of wall art.
