Object Description

This large pair of crested and cast Regency George III silver salts were made in London in 1817 by John Edward Terrey and measure 4.25 inches in dia by 2 1/8 inches tall and have vast flower and foliage borders around the top leading into fluted bowls and stand on 3 large cast shell and acanthus leaf shouldered – hairy paw feet, they are gilded to the interior and are fully hallmarked under the bases where they also bear an unusual crest. A lovely pair of eye catching salts in very good condition weighing 15.35 ounces or 477 grams.
