These exquisitely decorated antique Chinese vases beautifully exemplify the country’s strong tradition of craftsmanship in the 19th Century. Originating in the Canton (Guangdong) region, the ovoid-form vases are crafted from famille rose porcelain, a style of porcelain decoration which was popular in China from the 18th Century onwards. The bodies of the vases are decorated intricately with figural court scenes, foliage and flowers. The necks of the vases are mounted with porcelain handles which take the form of dogs and lizards.
