Object Description
A large sized, dark red leather on chromed metal Travel Inkwell.
The diameter of this inkwell is approximately 1 inch wider than most travel inkwells. The lid is released by a sprung button to the front and the second, interior lid is released by a sprung catch to the side. This second lid has a sprung pad to the underside to form a tight seal on the removable glass bottle.
The leather has a tight, cross hatch design along with tooled lines that follow the edges of the inkwell. There is no maker’s name but the sprung button has a star over a crescent stamped to it. Early 20th Century.
