A LATE 17TH CENTURY AUBUSSON HISTORICAL TAPESTRY, AFTER CHARLES LE BRUN, DEPICTING ALEXANDER THE GREAT AND THE BATTLE OF GRANICUS
Woven in silks and wools depicting Alexander the Great in the midst of battle crossing the Granicus river , surrounded by soldiers and other horsers,
within a border decorated with flowers, masks and medallions. Reduced in size. France, end of the 17th century.
Backed in linen with old restorations throughout and restoration to the border.
