A good leather hide Suitcase.
The case looks like it original had a paper maker’s label to the middle of the lid interior but there are no clues as to who may have made. The quality of the case is evident though. The top of the bottom section is canted to ensure an easy fit to the top. The corners are reinforced and the top has a pair of short straps to support the leather hinge. The handle is shaped to give a comfortable grip and the brass slide locks are stamped Secure Leaver. The key is missing but not needed to operate the locks. The underside of the case has 5 brass dome studs to raise it off the ground. The interior is lined in a pale green thin canvas.
The original owners initials of N.D. are stamped below the handle. This is a medium suitcase and a useful size for a weekend away. Early 20th Century.
