Object Description
Circa 1920. An arts and craft fumed oak table designed by Sir Robert Lorimer and made for Liberty & Co for their shop at Great Marlborough Street, London. The oak top with brass insert measuring rod and small pull out slide to the front. Simple tapering frieze with beading to the bottom, the table stands on four classic Lorimer slow turned twist legs (design he saw in the Rijksmuseum in Holland), the legs finish on a low trestle base with canted corners braced by a full-length stretcher with similar moulded edge.
