Object Description
Louis XV Style Ormolu-Mounted Side Table with Marble Top Retailed by Deveraux
French, 19th Century
Height 75.5cm, width 58cm, depth 47cm
This very fine piece is an ormolu-mounted, marble inlaid side-table, retailed by Deveraux of Paris, and made in the nineteenth century. Slender and elegant, it is crafted in a Louis XV style, with certain Rococo influences.
The curved, oval shaped ormolu frame for the top is inlaid with a pleasing grey and pink marble surface, and the legs taper into four cabriole legs.
The rich wood arcs in typical bombe fashion, making an exceptionally pleasing piece on the eye, a fine addition to any interior. There is partially torn label on the underside indicating the retailer, ‘Deveraux, Paris.’
