Object Description
This very good quality William IV silver castle top snuff box was made in Birmingham in 1836 by Nathaniel Mills and measures 3 inches in length by almost 2 inches wide and is 1 inch deep. The high relief decoration to the front is of Windsor Castle inside a raised floral cartouche, it has a band of raised floral decoration to the lid border and another to the base border, the under side has engine turned engraving as do the sides. It is gilded to the interior and fully and clearly hallmarked, a lovely box in very good condition weighing 3.45 ounces or 106 grams.
