Object Description

This very nice crested George III silver fish slice was made in London in 1778 by William Skeen and measures 12.5 inches long, it has a thread pattern handle that is bright cut engraved and has an engraved cartouche to the end with engraved flower heads and is crested to the front with a bears paw holding five Prince of Wales feathers. The beautifully ornate pierced and engraved blade is also engraved at the base with a basket of flowers on both sides and there is a fish to the centre with a fry behind it. The handle is marked on both sides with the makers mark and the blade is also fully and clearly hallmarked and it is in excellent condition weighing 5.4 ounces or 168 grams.
