Object Description
This serpentine shaped mahogany and silver mounted boxed George II silver dessert set was made in London C1754 and consists of 12 steel bladed dessert knives measuring 8.25 inches in length by W.P and 12 steel 2 pronged dessert forks measuring 7 inches in length by W.P and 6 dessert spoons measuring 6.5 inches in length by James Tookey London 1754. The knives and forks are crested to match with a bulls head, the spoons have no crests, the mahogany case is in lovely condition with red velvet lining with gold braiding, the silver mounts are marked with the makers mark of JW and the shell feet are unmarked, the key has been added for decorative purposes but does not lock the box, a lovely set of dessert cutlery in a beautiful box.
