Object Description

A very fine Luristan bronze dagger featuring a triangular blade and a striking hilt and pommel. The latter takes the form of a half-crescent known as an ‘ear pommel’, from which the grip slopes inwards before culminating to a vertical ridge and then widening towards the guard. The guard consists of two raised parallel ridges that elegantly diverge outwards.

Date: Circa 1200-600 BC

Object Condition

Fine condition, chips along the edges of the blade consistent with age. Patination and enrustation are visible to the surface.
