Luristan Bronze Sword

Object Description

A fine Luristan bronze sword featuring a triangular blade with a raised midrib. The flanged hilt ends with a fanned pommel which has been pierced at the centre. The hilt’s edges extend upwards to have once encased inlays on both sides

Circa 1200-600 BC

Object Condition

Very fine condition, minor chipping along the hilt’s edges. Bright green patination and encrustation are visible to the surface.
