After a model by Clodion
By Henry Dasson

The nude bacchante recumbent figure raised on a bleu turquin marble and ormolu-mounted plinth, the mythical figure resting on a lion’s pelt, the tambourine-shaped bezel with tassel handle housing an enamel dial with gilt-lined royal blue border and raised gilt fleur-de-lys half hour markers, signed on a banner to the center ‘HRY DASSON’, pierced and engraved ormolu hands, the twin barrel movement striking on a bell. Signed and dated “Henry Dasson 1880;” the carved marble signed “Ernest Carrier-Belleuse.”
