Object Description
Mauboussin diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with a round old cut diamond, K colour, VS1 clarity, with an approximate weight of 4.01 carats in an open back claw setting, further adorned with twenty four rectangular baguette cut diamonds in open back rubover settings, with a combined weight of 1.20 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 5.21 carats, to an impressive cluster design featuring sculptural curving rows, a structural openwork gallery and intricately pierced open backholing, flanked by trumpeting split shoulders which taper down to a solid ridged flat shank with C-spring. Marked platinum, signed ‘MAUBOUSSIN’, maker’s mark, French, circa 1940, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5774-237.
