Object Description
Mauboussin vintage sapphire and diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with one oval double brilliant cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 1.60 carats, surrounded by twenty four round brilliant cut diamonds in open back rubover and grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.50 carats, further enhanced with twenty two round brilliant cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.60 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.10 carats, to an elegant double row cluster with scalloped edging, an intricately pierced gallery and shaped open backholing, flanked by diamond set shoulders leading down to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, signed ‘MAUBOUSSIN’, numbered ‘27337’, French, circa 1970, accompanied by Gubelin Gemmological report #20060100.
