A middle of the 19th century silver plated decanter stand and matching tray.
The stand rests on the silver plated tray that has a manufacturer’s mark for Boardman & Glossop of Sheffield.
The square stand holds four cut crystal decanters, has a gadrooned edge and is raised on four scrolling acanthus feet.
The stand has compartments to hold the four round decanters and racks to hold the stoppers when the decanter is being used. The large handle is a magnificent scrollling acanthus.
The stand sits in the tray which has the same gadrooned edge, the tray can be used separately.
The four decanters are barrel shaped, have cut decoration and mushroom shaped stoppers.
Two of the decanters have sterling silver collars, which are a later addition, and silver plated Rum and Gin labels.
The stand, tray and decanters are in good condition, there is some wear to the Rum and Gin label’s silver plating. (Circa 1850)
