Object Description
A brass Student’s Lamp with its original blue painted shade.
The lamp is well made, as you might expect from a company such as Miller & Sons. The brass has clean, sharp lines and the tole shade is wide to project the light from the candle. It has a strong brass collar to fit it to the lamp and this is stamped ‘Millers London’. As can be seen, the column has a spring to push the candle up as it reduces in size through use.
A number of different manufacturers produced Student Lamps but this Miller’s example has a great quality to it and its not often that you see them with the original paintwork to the shade. Circa 1880.
