Object Description

This very nice bright cut engraved George III silver soup or punch ladle was made in London in 1779 by George Smith and measures 13.5 inches long by 3.5 inches across the fluted bowl, the curved stem is bright cut and bears the initials JGP in flowing script to the top, the bowl is fluted to form a shell design and it is fully and clearly hallmarked to the back of the stem. A very nice ladle as useful as the day it was made in very good condition weighing 5.25 ounces or 163 grams.
