Object Description

This very nice pair of armorial George I silver tea caddies were made in London in 1724 by Edward Gibbon and measure 5 inches tall by 3.5 inches long and are 2.25 inches deep across the base. They each have 2 coats of arms – differing on either side and each has a sliding top with a domed pull off lid. They are both fully and clearly hallmarked under the bases and also to the sliding lids with the makers marks and leopards head, the condition is good and they weigh14.35 ounces or 446 grams.
