Object Description
This nice quality engraved George I silver oval tobacco box was made C1720 by William Gattliffe and is from the Lion Collection. It measures 3.75 inches in length by 3 1/8 inches wide and is 1 inch deep, it is engraved to the hinged lid with double cypher initials of JC inside a very florid cartouche and has a stand away hinge and is marked inside with the makers mark only, a super quality box in very good condition weighing 4.55 ounces or 141 grams.
