Gelatin silver print with border. 16 inch by 20 inch.

Vintage print published in British Vogue, May 1959 – ‘Fresh Approach to Coming Events’

Mounted on archive paper with Angela Williams, vintage photograph archive blindstamp

Provenance : Angela Williams Archive. Williams worked as an assistant to Parkinson in the early 1960’s and was given a number of vintage prints after helping the photographer clear out his Twickenham studio when he moved to Tobago in 1963. The archive has been painstakingly researched by Williams who has identified models and locations, a number were exhibited at the Julia Margaret Cameron Museum in the Isle of Wight in 2011.

The photo depicts Lady Rendlesham, her daughter and dog walking by the Serpentine in Hyde Park, London. she was guest editor of Vogue in the May 1959 edition.

They are wearing clothes by Dubarry.

A fine large print of this subject, in good condition. minor handling creases and some very minor blemishes from developing process. Smaller later prints have come to the market, this is the only original vintage print of this size currently known.
