Object Description

Padparadscha sapphire and diamond coronet cluster. Centrally set with an oval double brilliant cut natural unenhanced Ceylon padparadscha sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 7.19 carats, flanked by two cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.37 carats further encircled by a single row of ten cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 1.86 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.23 carats, to an impressive oval coronet cluster featuring fine curving claws, open stylised gallery and intricately pierced backholing, flanked by raised trumpeting split shoulders which terminate to a solid slim D-shape shank. Tested 18 carat rose gold with platinum settings, circa 1915, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #79187-08.
