Object Description
This pair of Victorian period columns is formed from ebonised and gilt wood. Each column mimics the form of a Classical column, complete with base, torus, shaft, and capital. Each column stands on a square base, rising to a laurel wreath form torus, and an unfluted shaft. The shaft, which is draped with giltwood garlands, is surmounted by a multiform parcel gilt capital, designed with gilt flutes and an encompassing wave form giltwood motif.
