Pair of American stained-glass windows in the manner of Tiffany
American, late 19th Century
Height 146cm, width 99cm, depth 2cm
Crafted in the manner of the famed producer Tiffany, this pair of stained-glass windows is a wonderful example of Gilded Age American design. The windows feature a curved crown, and each depicts a detailed landscape scene. One window presents a landscape at sunset, with the sky a wash of pink. The landscape below is littered with red flowers, contrasting beautifully against the blue sea beyond. The other window presents a daytime scene: two birds take to the air, while below swans feed by the edge of a body of water. The windows are beautifully coloured, a mix of bright and vibrant blues, greens, and reds.
