Pair of antique French gilt bronze chandeliers

The chandeliers in this pair are designed in the ornate style that prevailed during the reign of Louis Philippe, King of the French, from 1830 to 1848. Each chandelier features a bowl wrought from scrolled and pierced gilt bronze acanthus leaves, the bowl supporting eight S-scroll light branches, each branch terminating in a gilt bronze foliate drip pan and glass lamp. The chandeliers are supported by gilt bronze chains from finely cast foliate ceiling roses.
