Object Description
Pair of French glass and silver-plate cornucopia vases
French, Early 20th Century
Height 36cm, diameter 23cm
These excellent vases are crafted from glass and silver-plate and were made in France in the early twentieth century. They consist of a pair of glass cornucopias, which sit off-set on the silver-plated bases, opening up into foliate elements and culminating in spouts that terminate just to the side of their bases, which are mounted on inverted teardrop shape elements. The vases, simply yet elegantly designed, successfully convey the refined sophistication of the early modern period, ever-so-slightly indulgent yet on the whole clarified and modest: a delightful embellishment to any modern interior.
