Pair of George III Sterling Silver Wine Coasters
A pair of 18th century George III sterling silver wine coasters.
The circular coasters have a pierced scrolling body with chased detail, the upper rim is serpentine in shape with a gadrooned top edge, the lower edge has a ‘Pea’ mould.
The interlocking scroll decoration incorporates a shield shaped cartouche which is blank.
The coaster have hall marks individually stamped amongst the scrolls to the lower edge of the coasters.
Each coaster has four hall marks, The crowned leopard’s head for London, the sterling silver lion passant, the maker’s mark TN for Thomas Nash and the date letter for 1768.
The casters are in good condition, the turned mahogany bases have been replaced in the 19th century.
