Pair of large Meissen models of parrots, circa 1986 and 1988

Each naturalistically modelled and coloured, and perched on a tree-stump applied with leaves and flowers, and on one, cherries, these excellent pieces are a pair of large porcelain models of parrots, made by the German porcelain manufactory Meissen in the late twentieth century. 43cm and 42m high, they bear crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue (to rear of base on one and underside on the other), incised model numbers 77234 and 77235, impressed numerals and date codes for 1986 and 1988, both with painter’s numeral 23 (2).
