These two upholstered giltwood stools have been styled after the furniture of the Louis XVI period (1774-1793). Like Louis XVI period seating, these stools are characterised by their restrained use of classical Greek and Roman forms, which has resulted in a graceful and elegant overall form.
The stools feature seats, which have been upholstered in a light blue fabric. The giltwood seat rails are decorated with beaded and wave-form carvings, and the peg joints carved with symmetrical, stylised foliate motifs. Each stool is supported on four legs, carved with beading, foliage and fluting, and set on peg feet.
