Object Description
These exquisite glass decanters were created in Bohemia (modern-day Czech Republic). Bohemian glass has been prized for centuries for its high-quality craftsmanship and beautiful decoration.
The two decanters are crafted from clear glass with a white overlay. They feature ovoid bodies which are decorated with clear medallions. Some of these medallions are partially covered by white overlay, and they are decorated with fine gilt swirling patterns and floral motifs, as well as colourful enamel beads, imitating jewels. The white areas around the medallions are decorated with gilt stylised leafy vines and flowers, along with enamel beads. The decanters’ bodies are topped by panelled necks which are ornamented in a similar way to the bodies and are encircled by gilt faceted knops. The necks terminate in gilt faceted mouths, which are covered by mushroom-shaped stoppers with pointed faceted tops. The stoppers are parcel gilt and decorated with jewel-like enamel beads.
