Object Description

Pair of Sèvres style pierced porcelain centrepieces, attributed to Feuillet
French, c.1825
Height 23cm, diameter 23.5cm

This excellent pair of pierced porcelain centrepieces were made in Restauration period France, in the Sèvres style, and are attributed to the French interior designer and porcelain painter/producer Jean-Pierre Feuillet. Raised on gilt square bases, they are decorated in the manner of Sèvres with a green and gilt ground decorated with spring flowers, and white cartouches with flowers within on either side.

A pierced white and gilt lattice structure in two layers forms the main section of the body of each. Beautiful wares and finely crafted, they are elegant antique wares from an important period of French history and design, guaranteed to impress. Both have an impressed numeral to the bases but are otherwise unmarked.

Object Condition

One of the pieces has had restoration to a section of the pierced rim. This section also has a small chip and the opposite side has a small hairline crack. There is some minor rubbing to the paintwork where the bowl meets the stand. The other piece is in good condition though both have some very minor rubbing to the gilt.
