Object Description
Pair of Viennese floral stained-glass windows
Austrian, c. 1910
Height 238cm, width 49cm, depth 2cm
The stained-glass windows in this set are designed in the manner of the Vienna Workshops, an early nineteenth century Austrian response to the English Arts and Crafts movement. Each window is architecturally composed, with a surrounding fictive frame adorned with winding vines. The centre of each features scrolled and abstracted motifs. The colour palette is bright and vibrant, and the style and manner are evocative of the Arts and Crafts movement.
