Object Description

This very pretty crested George III silver oval tea caddy was made in London in 1776 by John Carter and measures 5 inches in length by 3.75 inches wide and is 3 3/8 inches tall, it is beautifully engraved to the lid and body borders with swags of flowers and a central crest to the front, it has a cast floral finial to the hinged lid and also has its original key (very rare) It is fully and clearly hallmarked under the base and is in excellent condition weighing 13.45 ounces or 418 grams.
