Object Description

This quality pair of crested Georgian Scottish silver salts and spoons were made in Edinburgh by J McKay in 1827 and measure 2.75 inches across by 1.5 inches tall, they have a lovely crest to the front or a unicorn with the bannered motto ORA ET LABORA above, the spoons are crested to match and one the salt shovels has been made to match by Hamilton and Inches in 1871 and these measure 4 inches in length. The salts stand on 3 stepped shouldered legs with stepped pad feet and are in very good condition weighing 6.20 ounces or 189 grams.
