Object Description

This very nice quality Queen Anne Britannia silver porringer was made in London in 1712 by Gabriel Sleath and measures 7.5 inches handle to handle by 4.25 inches tall and is 4.5 inches in dia across the top, it has cast scrolled handles either side and the bottom third of the body is spirally fluted with a row of engraving above and they are two further bands of engraving either side of a raised rope work band n the top third of the body, there is a large shaped and florid cartouche to the front with a vacant central cartouche and it is fully and clearly hallmarked to the side and weighs 9.30 ounces or 289 grams.
