A remarkable and rare oversize antique Heriz carpet woven in the late 19th century with stunning colours we associate with this era of weaving. Undoubtedly commissioned around 1870-1880 this oversize antique carpet is in beautiful condition with a good pile throughout its 7 metre by just over 4 metre size! The design is also extremely rare being a stunning all over pattern of wonderful flowers and scrolling cloud band designs and leaves. The madder red brick toned background is a masterful background colour allowing all the muted pale blues, greens, yellows, and soft pinks in the pattern to enhance the overall charm of this amazing carpet. The condition is very good indeed with only minimal lower areas of pile. A real masterpiece that can be shown to you in-situ throughout the UK and Europe.
