Object Description
A fine quality and rare pair of Regency period Rosewood Bon huer du Jours. Each with three quarter brass gallery to the top, trellis panels and drawers to the super structure. Hinged writing tablets opening to reveal inset tooled leather, frieze drawer to each, raised on turned tapering brass ring turned supports with a shelf beneath.

John McLean (born 1770; died 1825) was an English furniture and cabinetry maker and designer. He was recognized as one of the best of his era, representing the best in English cabinetmaking. Examples of his furniture can be found in the Victorian and Albert Museum, The California Palace of the Legion of Honor and the Library at Saltram, Devon.
