Object Description
This rare William & Mary Provincial West Country lace back trefid spoon was made C1690 by we believe Richard Hamlin and measures 7 1/8 inches in length. It has well defined lacing to the top of the stem on the front and the back of the stem it bears the pin prick initials of TS over IL, it is marked with the makers mark (West Country Silversmiths by Timothy Kent) struck thrice and leads into a reeded rat tailed bowl with well defined lacing to the back of the bowl. The bowl itself is well formed with no obvious signs of wear, there are a few dings to the back of the stem amongst the initials but otherwise it is in very good condition and the lacing is very good.
