Object Description

This rare provincial Queen Anne silver dog nose spoon was made in Lewes C1710 by Anthony Dodson and measures 7.75 inches in length, it has a well defined rat tail to the back of the bowl and is marked on the stem with the makers mark of AD and twice with the town mark, this are referred to in Ken’ts Sussex silver and its makers who says he was still using the family punches which were very worn. It bears the initials M over HM to the back of the stem and is in good condition.
