Object Description
This very nice William III Britannia silver miniature porringer was made in London in 1698 by Nathaniel Lock and measures 1.5 inches tall by 3 3/8 inches handle to handle and is 2 1/8 inches in dia across the top, the scrolled handles either side have a rib design as does the foot rim, the bottom two thirds of the body are spirally fluted with an engraved petal design and a leaf design above that. It is fully and clearly hallmarked under the base and has the engraved initials MR scratch engraved twice, a lovely porringer in very good condition.
