A reclaimed Ewarts copper roof ventilator dating from the late 19th century. This antique roof vent by Ewarts & Son Ltd is made from sheet copper and has a lovely natural verdigris patina. Once placed atop a roof to ventilate a building, today it is a superb historic object of English history and makes a striking feature in a garden.
Marked ‘Ewart and Son Ltd’ of Euston Road, London, this antique roof ventilator appears as ‘Design T’ in the Ewart catalogue (pictured). Established in the early 19th century, the company was one of England’s leading manufacturers of water heaters and copper ventilators.
