Object Description

A beautiful French small porcelain panelled carriage timepiece stamped on the backplate “R” and “C” with intertwining snakes inbetween and the number 157. The clock dial has Roman hour numerals with gilt inner and outer circles, blued steel spade shaped hands and musical instruments decorated in the centre. The left hand panel shows a young boy musician and in the right hand one there is a girl seated on a swing above a guitar, both in an idyllic rural setting. The small gilt case is attractively engraved with flowers and foliage.
