Object Description

A solid oak country longcase clock dating the the early 19th century. It has a dome top with a removable gilt wood finial, hood side pillars and glazed sides, with a long arched door and a plinth base. The painted enamel dial has a rocking ship automaton that moves in time with the pendulum. The dial is signed by the maker Robert Bolt of Weymouth. It has an 8 day movement, that sounds the hours on a bell. The gilt finial adds 15cm to the height (219cm). Object Condition

The case has been reproached and wax finished. The movement has been fully serviced and is guaranteed for 12 months.
